As a child, she was always a dreamer and an inventor, constantly looking for new ways to bring her imagination and ideas to life.
Over the years, she has explored and expressed her path of creativity in various forms, from music and writing to make-up artist and upcycling projects.
Although she always tried to colour within the lines and meet the expectations of friends, family and society, Anniek felt that her true self lay beyond.
It was only when her mind and body made a pact and she faced burnout that she was forced to pause and reflect.
During that period of self-discovery and healing, Finding Malou was born.
(The name means the search for Malou, the alter-ego, the artist/creator crying out to be found. Who asks to be. Who she really is and is allowed to be).
It became not only a search for peace and balance, but also for her authentic voice and artistic vision.
Through her art, she aims not only to express herself, but also to inspire others.

Anniek likes to experiment with various textures and is always looking for new possibilities. As for the entities in her work, she leaves it to the imagination of the art lover to interpret who or what they are.
